“Coming from the Russian River Valley, the dense purple-hued 2018 “1912 Block” offers up a rich, powerful, full-bodied style that carries tons of blackcurrant and blackberry fruit as well as notes of chocolate, graphite, and roasted herbs. It’s a big mouthful of fruit yet stays balanced, offers plenty of structure, and has a great finish. It’s going to impress for a decade.” 94 pts – Jeb Dunnuck

These own-rooted, head-trained vines planted in 1912 make up 8 acres of the 40 acre Aperture estate property and are situated next to the modern Aperture winery, built in 2019. This historic old vine plot, like many of its era, is not monovarietal but contains a unique and purposeful array of varieties.
