The 2021 Del Rio Vineyard cabernet sauvignon demonstrates an elegant power driven by its unique hillside location in the southeast corner of Alexander Valley. With chalky volcanic soils, and little organic material, the vines’ development is controlled and restrained and the established fruit is concentrated and complex.

“In the glass, it pours a dark purple hue and shows off a brooding profile, with a classic cologne of leather, cigar box, plum compote, savory herbs, graphite, and dried flowers. Full-bodied, it’s commanding in its structure, with ripe tannins that take on a more noble texture, a long finish, and fresh red fruit coming through on the back palate. It demands time in the cellar and is going to need another 5 or more years.”
