A distinct but ever-evolving blend now firmly rooted in the Aperture portfolio. Inspired by Proteus, the shapeshifting god of water symbolizing transformation and fluidity, it will be crafted every year, evolving in character and varietal composition while maintaining its hallmark quality and consistent presence in the Aperture portfolio.

The 2023 Proterra is a blend of 80% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Cabernet Franc. Bright red fruit rises first, framed by cedar box and a hint of anise, with cherry and raspberry at the core. Dark plum and purple florals deepen the mid-palate, while tobacco leaf adds quiet complexity. Fine-grained tannins feel light and wispy at first, slowly building through the back palate and stretching into a long, clean, persistent finish.
