“The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon SJ Ranch Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) comes from a gravelly site bordering Verité. It was aged 20 months in 50% new oak. Opaque ruby-purple, it gives up a fantastic perfume of chocolate-covered cherries, sour plum, pencil shavings, cassis, grilled meats, dried rose petals, soy, leather and cedar with classy new oak spice. It’s full-bodied with intense, lush flavor layers framed by wonderfully ripe, silky tannins and great freshness, finishing long. This has the stuffing and structure to be very long lived. 140 cases were made.”
