2019 APERTURE OLIVER RANCH CABERNET SAUVIGNON – SOLD OUT

This single-vineyard, 100% cabernet comes from Oliver Ranch, in Alexander Valley. Planted in 1989 by the viticulture legend, Phil Freese who leads the Aperture viticulture practices today, this 3.6 acre site is an exquisite example of precise vineyard planning and how obsessive attention to detail can shape the resulting wine.
As part of our Aperture site series collection, this cabernet is one of our most limited in production and highly allocated wines, available exclusively from the winery.
“…stunning and graceful. Medium to deep ruby in color, its aromas unfold slowly, Morello cherry, blueberries and violet segueing to layers of eucalyptus, grilled meats, dried herbs and graphite. The full-bodied palate is generous but not overripe, with chocolate-textured tannins, bursts of fresh acidity and a long finish replete with loads of fine, spicy accents from its maturation in 80% new French oak. Bottled in August of 2021, this stunner promises long development in the cellar.” 98pts
