2023 APERTURE BORDEAUX RED BLEND
For this vintage, we crafted a distinct Bordeaux blend, composed primarily of malbec and merlot, rounding out the blend with with cabernet sauvignon and small amounts of cabernet franc, and petit verdot. The ripe red fruit characters are structured by silky seamless tannins, showcasing an elegant density to the blend.

“I tasted the 2023 Bordeaux Red Blend, composed of 36% Malbec, 28% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, in October, shortly after its August bottling. Grapes were harvested from October 5 through November 3, and the wine matured for 18 months in 50% new French oak barrels plus 5% concrete—a new aging vessel Aperture is beginning to experiment with. It has alluring aromas of cassis, blueberry preserves, incense, chocolate, iron, thyme and violet. The full-bodied palate is seamless and luxe with pure yet youthfully coiled flavors.
