2016 APERTURE OLIVER RANCH CABERNET SAUVIGNON – 1.5L
This single-vineyard, 100% cabernet comes from Oliver Ranch, in Alexander Valley. Planted in 1989 by the viticulture legend, Phil Freese who leads the Aperture viticulture practices today, this 3.6 acre site is an exquisite example of precise vineyard planning and how obsessive attention to detail can shape the resulting wine.
Available in 1.5L format
As part of our Aperture site series collection, this cabernet is one of our most limited in production and highly allocated wines, available exclusively from the winery.
“The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oliver Ranch Vineyard is made of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc aged 22 months in 50% new oak. Medium to deep ruby-purple, it offers aromas of dark chocolate, Morello cherries, black plum, vanilla pod, Indian spices, beef drippings, rosemary, wilted roses and cassis with red fruit hints. The medium to full-bodied palate explodes with youthfully dense, rich flavor layers with a classy framing of new oak. It’s plushly textured by melt-in-your-mouth tannins and lifted by fantastic freshness, finishing long and layered. Give this plenty more time in bottle and enjoy it over the next 15 to 20+ years. 200 cases were made.” 94 pts – Erin Brooks, Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate
